POSLeader.com
Why you should want Dinerware.

Easy to use
  • Dinerware was designed to be used intuitively.  This means that very little training is required.
  • Training for wait staff can be completed in 15 – 20 minutes.
  • Dinerware has been designed to allow a user to easily do those tasks that occur frequently in a
    restaurant.

Features restaurant staff will use
  • Dinerware offers simple, common sense, ways to perform the tasks that a user needs to handle.
  • Dinerware offers interfaces to other applications that are specifically designed to handle other
tasks, like Inventory.  Doing so helps to keep the Dinerware application simple.

Current Technology
  • Dinerware is built using ".Net" technology and runs on a SQL database.  No legacy system can
    make this claim.

Little Support Required
  • Due to the Technology used in the application, very little, if any, support will be required in order to
    maintain your application.

Best value for the money
  • While the initial investment will be similar to other POS systems, the lack of support required, and
therefore the lower support costs will provide big dividends in the long term.
  • Did you know that many legacy systems (like Micros) make almost 50 % of their annual
revenue off of their support contracts?

You take ownership of the application
  • Because the Dinerware application is so simple, you can make changes quickly and easily without
    needing POSLeader.
Product Overview

Dinerware’s architecture yields a robust, scalable, and future-proof solution that allows restaurant
organizations to automate their operations. The product offers a powerful solution that is more affordable to
own, due to innovative design and modern technology.

Dinerware’s intuitive user interface increases employee efficiency, reduces expenses associated with
human error, and allows users to manage the system on their own.  Dinerware’s reporting capacity
empowers management to make educated decisions based on critical analysis of historical data.

Dinerware is the only system on the market that can deliver the latest technology cost-effectively to even the
smallest operation, allowing everyone to realize the benefits of POS.  Dinerware provides restaurant owners
with a POS solution that transcends previous limitations; leading to lower operating costs, improved
communication on the floor, and ultimately, enhanced interaction with guests.  The end result is better
customer service and more effective use of resources.

In practical terms, Dinerware’s flexibility means that restaurant owners can view data in their own way and
easily generate reports for any dates in the life of the restaurant. The powerful, easy to use order entry
screens require little or no training.  The management functions are logical and easy to understand, and
they are all available from any terminal at any time.
Managers can now make system-wide changes instantly,
without any costly downtime or disruptive system updates, and without leaving the floor to manipulate a
difficult “back office” program.

What can Dinerware do that our competitors can’t?

  • “Live System” technology means you never have to manually restart the system to effect changes.
    Your system is always live.
  • Dynamic Terminal technology allows any of your employees to use any terminal and see their own
settings.  Dinerware responds to the person, not the hardware.
  • This also means that there is Manager access from any terminal.
  • Dynamically configure menus without placing or sizing buttons.  Enter menu items quickly, and be
ready to sell in a matter of seconds.
  • Implement Happy Hour in one easy step, in 1 minute or less.  Change your mind just as quickly.
Without going into the back office.  Happy hour numbers flow to your reports automatically.
  • Change the price of dozens, hundreds, or thousands of similar menu items in one easy step.
  • Experience “friction free” technology.  Modify your menu and set policies quickly and easily.
Implement new ideas as soon as you think of them.
  • Perform all management tasks from any terminal at any time.  Dinerware keeps managers and staff
on the floor with the customer.
  • Quickly and easily customize behavior and menus for specific jobs such as bartender.
  • Recover from the vast majority of software errors in a matter of minutes, with a simple restart.
  • Share an item up to 8 ways in any proportion – easily and quickly.
  • Split and print guest checks in one easy step.
  • Accept any number of payments, in any combination of type.
  • Easily make modeless Choices for any item.  This allows servers to get the order right the first time,
without having to cancel and start over.
  • Report on your business going back to the first day.  Any time, from any terminal.

Some things to think about

Questions to ask

Whether Dinerware is the first or the fifth POS system you have looked at, there are some questions that you
should be asking of each POS provider.

  • What makes this system different than any other?
  • How much is Annual Support?
  • If the annual support contract seems high, why is it?
  • Do they require a support contract or is it optional?
  • Can I make menu changes myself?
  • Most systems allow very little control to make changes.  Even if they do allow it, it is often very
    cumbersome.
  • Can I download a Demo of your application?
  • Most systems cannot offer you a demo copy to download.  They applications involved are
simply too cumbersome and require too much tweaking by their technicians before you could
    use it.
  • How long does it take to train my wait staff to use the application?
  • What technology is the application based on?
  • Does the software get updated for free?
  • How often do updates for the software become available?
  • Can I have a list of current clients that I may contact to ask about their experience with your
    application?

If they will provide a list of existing clients that you may contact, you should also ask those clients many of
these same questions to see if they respond the same way that the POS representative did.

Additional question to ask existing clients

  • Was the initial cost what they expected it to be when everything was said and done?
  • What things do they not like about their application or provider?

Beware of buzzwords.

Many POS representatives will use buzzwords that sound good, but ultimately lead to half truths.
POSLeader will use many of these same words and phrases, but we will be able to back them up.
They can say that it is, but is it really?

Intuitive: If you cannot look at it and know how to use it with little or no training, it is not intuitive.
Robust: If the system requires a large support contract, how robust can it be?  If the application is built on 15
year old technology, how robust is it?

Easy to use:  If you have to contact them in order to have a change made, how easy is it to use?  If the
information is there, but accessing it is a pain, how easy to use is it?

Current Technology:  POS providers know that most restaurateurs are not overly tech savvy.  Remember
that just because a bell or whistle has been built with technology currently available, that does not mean that
the whole application is.  Ask the POS representative when the application was last rewritten from the
ground up to use current technology.  You might be surprised to find that most applications have never been
completely rewritten.

Features:  They aren’t really features if you will never use them.  One thing that many POS providers get
caught up in is adding every idea anyone has ever had to their software.  This makes things extremely
complex and rarely provides useful functionality.
