There will be times where the cost of an item should be shared out between all or some of the
members of a party. Dinerware offers a simple way to do this.
Sharing an Item among Several People
To split a Menu Item (and that item’s cost, should the customers wish to split the bill) among several
patrons, use the Share Item function.

patrons, use the Share Item function.
To share a Menu Item among two or more people
- Select the item you wish to share. (In this example, we have selected a bottle of wine.)
- Choose “Share Item”
- On the right side of the screen, you will see that the original Person has “1” share.
- Use the “+” or “–“ symbols to portion out the amount each individual should be changed.
- (In this example, we have elected to split the cost of the wine between all three party members,
but person 1 will be taking on ½ of the cost.)
- To add an extra Person, click on the “New Person” button under the “Share Item” side of the screen
Repeating an Item
Convenient “Repeat” function to repeat items previously ordered
Sometimes you can get a complicated order and another person at the table will order the same, or nearly
the same thing. Dinerware offers the user the ability to duplicate an entry instead of needing to reenter
everything again.
To duplicate an entry and then assign it to another person at the table:
- Once the first person’s entry has been entered highlight all items to be duplicated and click the
repeat button.
- All highlighted entries will be duplicated under the same person.
- Highlight the items to be transferred to the second person.
- Click the Move Item button.
- Select the person the items should be placed with from the list displayed.
- Adjust items as needed to suit the requests of the second individual.
