This is a full explanation of the choice set items screen.

This is the name that will appear in the choice set button in the Order Entry Screen 3.x.
Add an alternate print name here, remember only your staff will see these modifications.

Example: Temp
This feature allows the user to determine whether multiple selections may be made, like toppings on a baked potato, or whether only one selection may be made, like meat temperature.
This checkbox allows the user to set or remove a choice set from being displayed.
Checking optional means that when a menu item is selected it won't show the choice set or choices unless you select the menu item.
Checking persistent means that when a menu item is selected it always shows the choice set and choice, however, remember to select 'always show persistent choices' under system settings. Located under Manager > System> near the top left hand side.
This radial button makes the choice set mandatory when an order is placed for a menu item that uses this set.

Example: When a steak is ordered, specifying how it should be cooked should be required.
This is a sub selection of 'This is a Required Choice Set' which allows a bartender to ignore making the required selections for same choice sets.

Example: A user is ordering a martini, so the menu item is martini, next comes the choice set to determine what type of martini is being ordered. It is required for most users as the bartender won't know what kind to make if it is not specified, but if the bartender is taking the order, there is no need for them to take the additional steps to record what type of martini was ordered.
Show the choice quantity screen. Choices that contain sub choice sets cannot use the allocate quantities feature. If allocate quantities is unavailable for a choice set, choices within that set contain sub choices.
This pertains to #9, how many choices can a user make for each selection, one or min and max.

This forces the printer to print this particular selection in red.

Warning: Printing everything in red is just like printing everything black. Be selective.
This function places the name of the choice set onto printouts in front of the selected choice.

Example: If the client has ordered extra cheese, a choice set of 'extra' could be used and would show up on any print as 'extra cheese'
This field lists all of the choices available within the system that have not been selected for this choice set. To move any one of them to the choice in this choice set field, highlight the entry and click the right arrow button.

Choices from this choice set will not add or subtract from the menu item price when this button is selected, even if they have a set individual price.

Example: A shop might normally charge for a side of bacon, so bacon as a choice has a set price. However, some of their breakfast specials might include a choice of breakfast meats, so for that choice set, you would not want to charge extra for the selection.
When this box is checked, the user may elect to set an automatic selection from the choices. This way, the user would only need to make an alternate selection if the default selection is not the one that the client would like.

Example: All sandwiches come with optional side of soup, salad, baked potato, rice, vegetable medley or french fries. If french fries are the most commonly requested of these choices, they could be set as the default.
